CDC Guidance on Additional DosesĬDC recommends that moderately or severely immunocompromised 5-11-year-olds receive and additional dose of vaccine 28 days after their second shot of Pfizer. Individuals with moderately to severely compromised immune systems are recommended for an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after they received a two-dose primary series of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
